Brazil defender, Gabriel has signed a new four-year contract at Arsenal until June 2029.
Gabriel signed for Arsenal from Lille in September 2020 and has gone on to score 20 goals in 210 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking to arsenal.com about his decision to renew his contract for four more seasons, Gabriel explained that he just wants to continue developing and try to win trophies.
“I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I’m so happy and I’ve learned a lot. I’m so proud of myself, it’s an amazing journey, and I’m so happy to continue it. I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.”
The 27-year-old has finished as Premier League runners-up with Arsenal in the last three seasons but Gabriel now feels that the North London club must kick on if want to win trophies with fans continuing to motivate the team.
“We’ve done a lot of good things, and now it’s time to win some trophies. I want to say thank you for everything. I love the fans, and I love how they push the team. I think they are so incredible to keep pushing us every single game. We continue together for the future.”
