Chelsea began 2025 on top and soon set about chasing a sixth consecutive league title plus a historic invincibles achievement, although Arsenal and Manchester United gave them a fair fight for the crown as Manchester City stuttered.
Crystal Palace meanwhile looked to pull off an escape in their first WSL season at the foot of the table.

Week 11
Catarina Macario, Erin Cuthbert, Aggie Beever-Jones and Sandy Baltimore all netted for table-topping Chelsea in a 5-0 away win at West Ham, which was capped off by Amber Tysiak’s own-goal.
Mariona Caldentey’s brace plus goals from Leah Williamson, Alessia Russo and Beth Mead saw Arsenal climb to second on goal difference with a 5-0 home win over Crystal Palace who remained rock bottom.
Ella Toone’s hat-trick plus Leah Galton’s effort saw Man Utd climb to third with a 4-2 victory in the Manchester derby at Man City.
Jorelyn Carabali’s own-goal saw Liverpool defeat Brighton 2-1 at home after Olivia Smith’s opener was cancelled out by Nikita Parris.
Sophie Howard’s own-goal gifted Tottenham a fourth-minute winner over Leicester.
Veatriki Sarri rescued Everton a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa with an 89th-minute equaliser, after Rachel Daly put Villa ahead at half-time.
Week 12
Guro Reiten’s 84th-minute penalty snatched victory for Chelsea over Arsenal in a fierce London derby in which the Gunners’ Katie McCabe was sent off.
Toone opened the scoring before Hinata Miyazawa and Celine Bizet wrapped up victory as Man Utd cruised to a 3-0 home win over Brighton to move up to second.
Man City moved up to third with a 4-2 victory at Aston Villa through Vivianne Miedema’s brace and goals from Mary Fowler plus Jess Park, after Chasity Grant initially put the hosts in front before Laia Aleixandri’s own-goal pulled Villa level after Miedema turned the game around for City.
Olivia Holdt’s 95th-minute winner saw Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 3-2 away after Bethany England’s first-half brace was cancelled out by goals from Katie Stengel and Ashleigh Weerden.
Janice Cayman and Missy Goodwin fired Leicester to a comeback 2-1 win over Liverpool at home, having fell behind to Smith’s third-minute effort.
First-half goals from Shekiera Martinez and Viviane Asseyi saw West Ham defeat Everton 2-0 at home.
Week 13
Sarah Mayling’s late own-goal saw Chelsea scrape a 1-0 victory away at Villa to stay top of the table.
Man Utd stayed second with a sixth-minute winner from Elisabeth Terland which proved enough to beat Tottenham.
Stina Blackstenius struck a 78th-minute winner to lift Arsenal up to third in a dramatic 4-3 victory at Man City, having led through Caldentey and Lotte Wubben-Moy, before Mary Fowler’s brace and Miedema’s effort helped Man City fight back to 3-3 at one stage after Frida Maanum had put the Gunners back in front.
My Cato rescued a 1-1 draw for Crystal Palace in the M23 derby at Brighton, after Lily Woodham’s own-goal put the Eagles in front only for the Seagulls to be reduced to ten women after Maisie Symonds’ 48th-minute red card for a foul on Aimee Everett.
Kelly Gago’s brace plus goals from Katja Snoeijs and Honoka Hayashi saw Everton clinch a 4-1 home win over Leicester, who had levelled at half-time through Shannon O’Brien’s equaliser.
Leanne Kiernan netted a 33rd-minute winner as Liverpool scraped past West Ham at home.
Week 14

Lauren James netted a 93rd-minute comeback winner as Chelsea beat Everton 2-1 to further continue their march to the title, having fell behind to Gago’s opener before Mayra Ramirez equalised with a low strike.
Terland’s brace and Grace Clinton’s effort saw second-placed Man Utd beat rock-bottom Palace 3-1 at home, although Terland’s opener was cancelled out by Mille Gejl.
Clare Hunt’s own-goal fired Arsenal on their way to a 5-0 North London derby victory at home to Tottenham, with Caldentey, Maanum, Russo and Emily Fox also on the scoresheet.
Khadija Shaw’s brace plus second-half goals from Jill Roord and Gracie Prior saw Man City cruise to a 4-0 home win over Liverpool.
Riko Ueki and Asseyi struck in the second half to fire West Ham to a 3-1 home win over Brighton, after Martinez’s opening goal was cancelled out by Parris.
Cayman’s brace plus Julie Thibaud’s header saw Leicester claim a 3-0 win at home to Midlands rival, Villa.
Week 15
James rescued a 2-2 draw for leaders, Chelsea away to Brighton after they led initially through Baltimore, before Marisa Olislagers and Vicky Losada put the Seagulls into a half-time lead.
First-half goals from Melvine Malard and Galton saw Man Utd cruise past Leicester to a 2-0 home win.
McCabe, Williamson and Caldentey fired Arsenal to a comeback 4-3 home win over West Ham, after the Hammers led through Tysiak’s brace before Martinez restored their two-goal lead following Chloe Kelly’s 44th-minute effort for the Gunners.
Aoba Fujino’s second-half strike saw Man City snatch a 2-1 win at Tottenham after England cancelled out Miedema’s opening goal.
Maren Mjelde’s volley and Hayashi’s close-range strike saw Everton clinically clinch a 2-0 win at Villa.
Jasmine Matthews struck a 10th-minute winner for Liverpool away at rock-bottom Palace.
Week 16
Macario, Beever-Jones and Cuthbert found the net as Chelsea saw off a spirited Leicester performance for a 3-1 win, despite Nicole Momiki’s consolatory effort for the Foxes.
Russo’s brace plus Mjelde’s own-goal saw Arsenal climb to second with a 3-1 win at Everton despite Toni Payne’s equaliser.
Smith’s brace and Fuka Nagano’s quick-fire strike saw Liverpool stun Man Utd 3-1 as the Red Devils dropped to third on goal difference, despite Maya Le Tissier’s late strike.
Manuela Pavi’s 91st-minute equaliser cancelled out Shaw’s opener as West Ham fought back to draw 1-1 at home to Man City.
Aniek Nouwen, Weerden and Stengel found the net as rock-bottom Palace claimed their first home win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Villa, despite Lucy Parker’s consolatory late effort for the Villains.
Fran Kirby netted a 42nd-minute winner as Brighton snatched a 1-0 win at Tottenham.
Week 17
Cuthbert netted a headed injury-time winner as Chelsea came from behind to beat Man City 2-1 away, after Kerolin netted a solo strike to put the hosts in front at half-time only for Beever-Jones to level for the reigning champions four minutes into the second half.
Matthews’ two own-goals plus Caitlin Foord and Caldentey’s efforts saw Arsenal thump Liverpool in a 4-0 home victory.
Terland’s brace plus goals from Clinton and Galton saw Man Utd cruise to a 4-0 win at Villa.
First-half goals from O’Brien, Saori Takarada and Shana Chossenotte saw Leicester beat Brighton 3-2, despite Madison Haley’s effort and Fran Kirby’s penalty for the Seagulls in a late fightback.
Josefine Rybrink’s own-goal and Asseyi’s 90th-minute free-kick fired West Ham to a 2-0 home win over London rivals, Tottenham.
Headers from Justine Vanhaevermaet and Sara Holmgaard plus Gago’s injury-time effort saw Everton cruise to a 3-0 home win over Palace.
Week 18
Martinez’s brace saw West Ham fight back for a 2-2 draw at Chelsea after Maika Hamano’s volley and Beever-Jones’s strike had put the Blues in firm control.
Mead’s brace and Russo’s strike fired Arsenal to a 4-0 away win at Palace during which Allyson Swaby’s own-goal gifted the Gunners their third goal.
Dominique Janssen and Clinton found the net for Man Utd in a 2-0 home win over Everton.
Kerstin Casparij and Miedema netted for Man City in a 2-1 win at Brighton, although they were denied a clean sheet after Charlize Rule netted in the 92nd minute for the Seagulls.
Jenna Clark’s own-goal handed Villa a comeback 2-1 win at Liverpool after Kirsty Hanson cancelled out Marie Hobinger’s penalty.
Rybrink’s second own-goal in successive matches saw Leicester claim a 1-1 draw at home against Tottenham after Drew Spence netted a close-range equaliser for the visitors.
Week 19
Macario’s brace plus Reiten’s penalty and Mia Fishel’s close-range tap-in saw Chelsea move closer towards the title with a 4-0 win over ten-women Palace who had Swaby red carded in the second-half.
Foord’s brace plus goals from Blackstenius, Mead and Victoria Pelova’s volley saw Arsenal thrash Leicester 5-1 in North London, despite Momiki’s consolatory effort for the Foxes with a low second-half shot.
Man Utd stuttered to a goalless draw at West Ham to dent their top-two hopes.
Casparij’s close-range opener was cancelled out by Karen Holmgaard’s header from her sister – Sara’s cross as Everton battled back to a 1-1 draw at Man City.
Hanson netted a 91st-minute winner for Villa in a 3-2 victory at Tottenham after Anna Patten and Ebony Salmon initially put the Villains in front, before Jess Naz and Ella Morris had pulled Spurs level.
First-half goals from Smith and Kiernan saw Liverpool claim a 2-1 win at Brighton, where Michelle Agyemang netted a 47th-minute consolatory goal for the hosts.
Week 20
Lucy Bronze’s 74th-minute header saw Chelsea seal a sixth consecutive WSL title with a 1-0 away win at third-placed Man Utd.
Second-half goals from Blackstenius and Russo couldn’t prevent second-placed Arsenal suffering a shock 5-2 loss at Aston Villa, in which Jordan Nobbs opened the scoring against her former team before Grant’s brace plus goals from Hanson and Daly confirmed the Villains’ dominant victory.
Jess Park’s 70th-minute winner at Leicester kept Man City’s faint top-three dreams alive with a 1-0 victory over the Foxes.
First-half goals from Sara Holmgaard and Snoeijs were cancelled out by Agyemang and Kirby before Parris netted a 93rd winner to complete Brighton’s 3-2 comeback at Everton.
Sophie Roman Haug’s brace saw Liverpool fight back to a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham, after Racheal Laws’ own-goal and Hunt’s strike had put Spurs in front from behind.
Martinez scored four goals as West Ham officially condemned Palace to relegation with a 7-1 victory away to the Eagles, during which Emma Harries’ brace and Asseyi’s effort added more misery despite Stengel’s consolatory penalty for the hosts in the 80th minute.
Week 21
Arsenal blew a chance to wrap up second place in a surprise 4-2 loss at Brighton in which Foord and Caldentey found the net for the Gunners, whilst Kirby had put Brighton in front before Jelena Cankovic’s brace and Kiko Seike’s effort capped the Seagulls’ victory.
Comeback goals from Clinton and Malard guaranteed Man Utd a top-three finish with a 2-2 draw at home to Man City, after the Cityzens had led through Aleixandri and Rebecca Knaak but Utd finished with ten women after Aoife Mannion’s red card.
Macario’s 35th-minute penalty winner saw Chelsea edge a 1-0 away win at Tottenham.
Snoeijs and Karen Holmgaard netted for Everton in a 2-0 Merseyside derby win at Liverpool, although Sara Holmgaard was red carded for a 81st-minute foul on Smith.
Daly and Grant’s goals saw Villa snatch a 3-2 win at West Ham after Martinez and Ueki had put the Hammers ahead from behind, following Salmon’s fifth-minute opener for the Villains.
Annabel Blanchard and Abbie Larkin got equalising goals as Palace twice battled from behind to draw 2-2 at home to Leicester, with the visitors having led through Hannah Cain then O’Brien.
Week 22
Beever-Jones netted a 91st-minute winner as Chelsea battled past Liverpool to end the WSL season on a high with a 1-0 home win and go unbeaten across a single league campaign for the first time in WSL history.
Goals from Caldentey, Maanum and Little in the space of 11 second-half minutes saw Arsenal secure second with an eventual 4-3 victory over third-placed Man Utd, after Kelly’s second-minute goal was cancelled out by Toone before Terland and Le Tissier netted consolatory goals for the Red Devils.
Weerden and Gejl put Palace on the brink of a shock win at Man City with a 2-1 lead at half-time despite Kerolin’s initial equaliser, but Kerolin scored again in the second-half as City roared back to win 5-2 with Roord also on the score sheet whilst Knaak struck twice in the space of 27 minutes.
Aston Villa benefitted from Liverpool’s defeat to snatch sixth with a 3-1 win over Brighton in which Salmon and Daly netted in the first half, before Maz Pacheco scored on her final Villa appearance to wrap up the victory before Parris struck a 94th-minute consolatory effort for the Seagulls.
Cain’s brace plus goals from Cayman and Sam Tierney saw Leicester beat West Ham 4-2 at home, whilst Asseyi scored twice for the Hammers in the space of six second-half minutes.
Sarri’s 11th-minute free-kick was cancelled out by Spence’s close-range equaliser as Tottenham battled back to a 1-1 draw at Everton.
