Wycombe Wanderers face Charlton Athletic in the first leg of their play-off semi-final in 2024-25 League One.
Wycombe qualified for this play-off semi-final in fifth position following a final day loss to Stockport, which saw Charlton move above them into fourth after the Addicks beat Burton Albion at home.

Charlton have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 3-1 home win over Burton Albion.
Chuks Aneke (suspension) and Miles Leaburn (quad) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Wycombe host Charlton at Adams’ Park on Sunday 11 May at 6:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports Football in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Wycombe’s first EFL play-off meeting against Charlton.
- Charlton have avoided defeat in five of seven previous visits to Wycombe (W4, D1, L2).
- Nathan Jones’ Addicks scored first in both of their two regular-season meetings against Wycombe this campaign (W2).
- Wycombe are looking to avoid suffering four consecutive league defeats since November – December 2023.
- Matty Godden has scored four goals in three of Charlton’s last four matches.
Prediction
Coming into this game with three defeats and one goal in their last three matches, Wycombe certainly ran into tough in-form opposition at the worst possible time and they now must reset and rediscover their best attacking spark.
Charlton meanwhile will come into this first leg full of confidence with just two losses in their last 15 and plenty of firepower in form, whilst their dominant 4-0 Easter Monday victory here will be fresh in their minds but that can’t play any part mentally as the play-offs is a different kettle of fish opposed to that game.
One positive in Charlton’s favour though is that they have a man who knows how to win play-offs in Jones and if they continue to play like they’re currently, I do fancy them to nick a win although Wycombe won’t make it as easy as they did a few weeks ago.
Prediction: Wycombe 1-2 Charlton
Result: Wycombe 0-0 Charlton
