2024-25 Premier League: Week 36 – Man Utd vs West Ham

Manchester United meet West Ham in a Premier League dead rubber at Old Trafford.

Victory will see Man Utd climb to 14th in the table, whilst West Ham can leapfrog the Red Devils into 15th with a win if Tottenham fail to take three points elsewhere.

Team News

Harry Maguire is a doubt for Man Utd due to a knock suffered in their home leg comeback against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League.

Tobias Collyer (leg), Diogo Dalot (calf), Joshua Zirkzee (hamstring), Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt (both knee) and Ayden Heaven (ankle) are still sidelined.

West Ham could welcome Edson Alvarez back after he missed their 1-1 draw against Tottenham due to a back injury.

Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) and Michail Antonio (leg) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Man Utd host West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday 11 May at 2:15pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Having staged a late ruthless comeback at home to Athletic Bilbao in their Europa League semi-final, Man Utd seem to finally be finding their attacking edge under Ruben Amorim but their defence does remain an issue as saw at Brentford last weekend and for much of the second leg against Bilbao.

West Ham simply lacked the accurate final touches to beat Tottenham because their attack otherwise was decent, although their defence was initially sluggish with some poor marking for Wilson Odobert’s goal which can’t happen here if Utd’s attack is firing on all cylinders.

Old Trafford also is quite a modern hoodoo for the Hammers and unless they turn out a surprise clinical display, I can’t see Man Utd losing this even if it is another late show.

Prediction: Man Utd 2-0 West Ham

Result: Man Utd 0-2 West Ham
