Arsenal, Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSG entered this stage knowing that they were two matches away from a place in this season’s final, which saw one team dominate their tie whilst the other proved to be a topsy-turvy epic across both legs.
PSG 3-1 Arsenal
First Leg
Ousmane Dembele fired PSG to a 1-0 first-leg victory in North London with a low strike past David Raya, after he had latched onto Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s pass in the fourth minute.
Second Leg
Fabian Ruiz’s 27th-minute strike plus Achraf Hakimi’s second-half strike saw PSG ultimately prevail 3-1 on aggregate with a 2-1 home win, despite Bukayo Saka’s consolatory goal for the Gunners.
Barcelona 6-7 Inter Milan
First Leg
Early goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries fired Inter into a 2-0 lead in the opening 21 minutes, before Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres pulled Barcelona level at the break.
Dumfries put Inter back in front with his second goal until Yan Sommer’s 65th-minute own-goal salvaged a 3-3 draw for Barcelona in the first leg at home.
Second Leg
Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu put Inter 2-0 ahead at half time in the return leg only for Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo and Raphinha to fight back for Barcelona in the second half, yet Francesco Acerbi forced extra-time with a stunning strike in the third minute of injury-time.
Inter ultimately advanced to the final after Davide Frattesi netted a 99th minute winner to seal a 7-6 aggregate win and 4-3 home victory for Inter.
