2024-25 Premier League: Week 35 – West Ham vs Tottenham

West Ham meet London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League dead rubber fixture.

Victory would see West Ham move above Spurs into 16th position, whilst Tottenham can climb to 14th with a win if Manchester United fail to win elsewhere.

Team News

Evan Ferguson is available for West Ham after he was ineligible to play in the Hammers’ 3-2 loss at his parent club – Brighton last weekend.

Edson Alvarez (back) is a doubt but Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) and Michail Antonio (leg) remain ruled out.

Tottenham will be without Lucas Bergvall after he suffered an ankle injury during their first-leg victory over Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.

James Maddison (knee) and Dominic Solanke (thigh) are doubts but Radu Dragusin (ACL) and Son Heung-min (foot) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

West Ham host Tottenham at London Stadium on Sunday 4 May at 2pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Coming into this game off the back of a more positive performance at Brighton where they looked decent defensively until their late meltdown amidst two clinical second-half goals, West Ham now need to take heart from that performance and be more consistent across 90 minutes here if they want local pride.

Tottenham meanwhile are rightly prioritising the Europa League which showed in a dominant display with clinical goals but to defensively switch off at 3-0 up was just careless, so I would like to see them bring another strong performance although there will surely be changes.

Throw in the inconsistent league form of both clubs and I think that this will be a tough battle but if West Ham can keep their focus and continue to improve, they might just nick this.

Prediction: West Ham 1-0 Tottenham

Result: West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
