2024-25 Premier League: Week 35 – Everton vs Ipswich

Everton host Ipswich at Goodison Park in a Premier League dead rubber.

Should Wolves lose on Friday evening, victory will move Everton up to 13th for at least 23 hours.

Ipswich will remain in 18th position regardless of the result.

Team News

Armando Broja is available for Everton after he was ineligible to feature in their 1-0 loss at Chelsea.

Orel Mangala (knee), Jesper Lindstrom (hernia), James Tarkowski and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (both hamstring) remain sidelined.

Ipswich will be without Ben Johnson who is suspended following his red card in their 3-0 defeat at Newcastle.

Axel Tuanzebe (thigh) and Kalvin Phillips (Achilles) are doubts and face late fitness checks.

Arijanet Muric (shoulder), Leif Davis (suspension), Nathan Broadhead (thigh), Conor Townsend (hamstring), Sammie Szmodics (ankle), Jaden Philogene-Bidace (MCL), Wes Burns (ACL) and Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Everton host Ipswich at Goodison Park on Saturday 3 May at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Although there is nothing much to play for other than pride and a chance to not finish as North-West’s worst Premier League club this season, Everton need to bring more attacking quality than they produced at Chelsea where a small error cost them in an otherwise strong defensive showing.

Ipswich meanwhile just seem to be imploding discipline wise with red cards in their last two matches and some lacklustre defending, although they did well defensively at Newcastle before collapsing after Johnson’s red card whilst their attack just lacked a final touch.

It is quite hard to call how this game could go with both teams now having little at stake but if Everton can find their attacking gears and Ipswich’s defence is still weak, I can see the hosts nicking this.

Prediction: Everton 1-0 Ipswich

Result: Everton 2-2 Ipswich
