2024-25 Premier League: Week 29 – Bournemouth vs Brentford

Top-four chasing Bournemouth seek a first Premier League win over Brentford in a huge clash.

Victory could see Bournemouth climb to sixth in the table, whilst Brentford can move up to 11th with a win or draw because Crystal Palace aren’t in action this weekend.

Team News

Illya Zabarnyi is available for Bournemouth following completion of his three-match ban, during which he missed their 2-2 draw at Tottenham last weekend.

Julian Araujo (hamstring), Adam Smith (calf), Marcos Senesi (muscle) and Enes Unal (ACL) remain absent.

Brentford could welcome Michael Kayode back into contention after he missed their loss to Aston Villa with a knee injury.

Sepp van den Berg (knee) could also return but Josh Dasilva (knee), Fabio Carvalho (shoulder), Gustavo Nunes (back), Igor Thiago (joint), Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey (both hamstring) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Bournemouth host Brentford at Vitality Stadium on Saturday 15 March at 5:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Bournemouth are yet to beat Brentford in the Premier League after five previous meetings (D2, L3).
  • Brentford are yet to lose a Premier League visit to Bournemouth (W1, D1).
  • Yoane Wissa has scored three goals in Brentford’s last two meetings against Bournemouth (W2).
  • No Bournemouth player has been involved in more league goals this season than Justin Kluivert who has netted 12 goals and contributed six assists.
  • Kevin Schade has scored in three of Brentford’s four away games in 2025, of which the Bees won those three games plus a 4-0 win at Leicester where he failed to find the net.

Prediction

Having produced a fantastic attacking press at Tottenham with two clinical goals amidst frustrating saves from Guglielmo Vicario, Bournemouth just seemed to switch off at 2-0 up defensively so I would like to see them stay focused if want to avoid dropping points which could be the difference come May for a top-four finish.

Brentford on the other hand weren’t clinical enough against a gutsy Villa defence so more composure will be needed if they want to continue their unbeaten form in this Premier League fixture, whilst their defence will need to be wary of any strong press that Bournemouth could produce from the get-go as Tottenham discovered.

Nevertheless I expect a good attacking battle here but if Bournemouth can just stay focused once in front, I can see them taking the win here.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Brentford

Result: Bournemouth 1-2 Brentford
