Promotion-chasing Burnley host play-off chasing West Bromwich Albion in a huge Championship showdown at Turf Moor.
Victory could see Burnley climb to the summit if Sheffield United fail to beat Bristol City elsewhere, whilst West Brom can climb to fifth if Coventry fail to win at Derby.
Team News
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns following their 4-0 home win over Luton.
Bashir Humphreys (quad), Jonjo Shelvey, Mike Tresor (both unspecified), Nathan Redmond (calf), Jordan Beyer and Aaron Ramsey (both knee) are still ruled out.
West Brom will be without Darnell Furlong after he was red carded in their 1-0 home win over QPR.
Semi Ajayi (hamstring), Josh Maja (leg) and Jed Wallace (calf) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley host West Brom at Turf Moor on Tuesday 11 March at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley are unbeaten in their last six meetings against West Brom (W2, D4).
- West Brom have won one of their last five league trips to Burnley (W1, D3, L1).
- Three of Burnley’s last five meetings against West Brom ended in goalless draws.
- Josh Brownhill has scored in each of Burnley’s last three league matches (W3).
- West Brom have come from behind to claim 1-1 draws in their last two away games (D2).
Prediction
Following a dominant display against Luton and results elsewhere going their way, Burnley know that a win here would be psychologically huge but they just need to playing with the same quality and confidence as they’re doing, and allow their results to put the pressure upon their rivals.
West Brom meanwhile certainly produced a clinical display to beat QPR with a gutsy defensive effort once down to ten men, which will stand them in good stead against a stubborn Burnley team from both an attacking and defensive perspective.
I therefore do feel instinctively that this could well be a grinder of a scrappy contest but if there is a winner, Burnley should just have that extra quality.
Prediction: Burnley 1-0 WBA
Result: Burnley 1-1 WBA
