F1 have announced that Cadillac have completed the requirements to join the grid from the 2026 season.
Confirmation of Cadillac’s entry comes after months of discussion between F1 and General Motors which have taken place since November 2024 upon initial agreement of entry.
General Motors President, Mark Reuss is “thrilled” that Cadillac has had its entry officially confirmed and is “… incredibly grateful for the support from the FIA and Formula One Management leadership for us and for our partners at TWG.”
F1 President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali described the confirmation as continuation of the team’s commitment to join the sport and marks “… an important and positive demonstration of the evolution of our sport.
FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem added that this confirmation “…. marks a transformative moment,” and is “proud” to lead the FIA’s involvement on a “progressive step” for F1 as it prepares for a new era of technical regulations next season.
Ben Sulayem also spoke of the team’s arrival having the potential to inspire future teams and F1 fans, whilst strengthening the FIA’s mission to push motorsport to the limit.
“The Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s presence in the paddock will inspire future competitors and fans. Their entry strengthens our mission to push motorsport’s boundaries at the highest level.”
Ex Marussia boss, Graeme Lowdon will serve as Team Principal since he stood down from his position in 2015, when the team were then known as Manor Racing.
