2024-25 Premier League: Week 28 – Forest vs Man City

Nottingham Forest meet Manchester City in a crunch six-pointer showdown in the Premier League’s top-four race.

Victory or a draw would see Forest stay third ahead of Man City in fourth, although a win would see Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens leapfrog their hosts into third.

Team News

Forest have no fresh injury issues following their FA Cup win over Ipswich on penalties, with only Carlos Miguel sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

Man City will be without defender, Nathan Ake after he needed surgery on a fractured foot which had caused him issues for an extended period of time.

Oscar Bobb (fitness), Manuel Akanji (muscle), John Stones (thigh) and Rodri (knee) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Forest host Man City on Saturday 8 March at 12:30pm GMT at the City Ground, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Prediction

Currently with third place in their own hands coming into this match, Forest have to produce more attacking quality than they did in a pretty dour draw against Ipswich – although they did look more lively once they conceded with greater intensity and a deserved equaliser.

Man City meanwhile are still inconsistent and given how Plymouth almost sprung a shock albeit against a rotated team in the FA Cup last weekend, it is hard to predict what sort of team will roll up given City’s defensive vulnerability which is something that Forest must look to target on their quick counter-attacks.

Nevertheless neither team can’t afford to drop points given how close the top-four race is but I do think that Forest should be able to nick a draw here.

Prediction: Forest 1-1 Man City

Result: Forest 1-0 Man City
