2024-25 Premier League: Week 29 – Ipswich vs Forest

Ipswich continue their fight for Premier League survival against top-four chasing Nottingham Forest.

Victory will see Ipswich stay 18th but move to within three points of safety if Wolves lose elsewhere, whilst Forest will stay third going into the international break with a win.

Ipswich have no fresh injury concerns to report after their narrow defeat at Crystal Palace.

Axel Tuanzebe (muscle), Arijanet Muric (shoulder), Sammie Szmodics (ankle), Wes Burns (ACL), Conor Chaplin (knee) and Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) remain ruled out.

Forest have no fresh injury issues to report with Carlos Miguel still sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Stat Attack

  • Ipswich have won two of five previous Premier League meetings against Forest (W2, L3).
  • Forest have won one of two previous Premier League trips to Ipswich (W1, L1).
  • Neither Ipswich or Forest have been shown a red card in five previous Premier League meetings.
  • No Ipswich player has picked up more bookings in the top-flight than Liam Delap this season (9).
  • Forest are winless in their last three away league matches (L3).

Prediction

Following a narrow loss at Palace last weekend, Ipswich now need to take the positives from their stubborn display and be more clinical because this game won’t be easy and they really need to start finding wins if want to stay up.

Forest meanwhile produced a fantastic defensive display to beat Man City with a brilliant piece of clinical finishing but they can’t lift their foot off the gas, especially given how close those behind them are currently packed in the top-four race so I expect to see them continue to play their counter-attacking best.

Ipswich though know that they realistically have to win their home games from now on in the run-in if want to stay up so I expect them to bring their recent attacking flair, but Forest ultimately should have enough to take the win.

Prediction: Ipswich 1-2 Forest

Result: Ipswich 2-4 Forest
