2024-25 Premier League: Week 25 – Tottenham vs Man Utd

Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United in a mid-table Premier League contest.

Victory would see Tottenham or Man Utd climb to 12th in the table following Crystal Palace’s loss to Everton.

Team News

Guglielmo Vicario (ankle), James Maddison (calf) and Destiny Udogie (hamstring) could all be back in contention for Tottenham.

Brennan Johnson, Richarlison (both calf), Mickey van de Ven (fitness),  Radu Dragusin (ACL), Cristian Romero (quad), Dominic Solanke (knee) Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner (both hamstring) are still sidelined.

Man Utd could be without Altay Bayindir after the Turkish goalkeeper missed their FA Cup win over Leicester last weekend.

Manuel Ugarte (knock) faces a fitness test but Amad Diallo (ankle) and Kobbie Mainoo (muscle) have both been ruled out.

Jonny Evans (muscle), Lisandro Martinez (knee), Mason Mount (leg) and Luke Shaw (unspecified) are still sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Tottenham host Man Utd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 16 February at 4:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Tottenham have lost four of their last eight league meetings against Man Utd (W2, D2, L4).
  • Man Utd have lost one of their last six league visits to Tottenham (W3, D2, L1).
  • Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski has scored in both of his appearances against Man Utd this season in all competitions (W2).
  • Spurs have lost both of their league games at home in 2025 by 2-1 results after having scored the opening goal (L2).
  • Man Utd have won one of their two league games away to London-based opposition since Ruben Amorim’s appointment as manager in November 2024 (W1, L1).

Prediction

With both teams still underperforming and lucky that there are teams in far worse form to prevent much muttering of relegation fears, this is a huge opportunity for both Tottenham and Man Utd to show some fight if want to at least salvage a top-ten finish from this disastrous season.

Tottenham however need more than just fight but a total transformation from the lacklustre displays in their Carabao Cup and FA Cup exits at Liverpool then Aston Villa respectively, having failed to produce any real quality in both games until very late at Villa for a consolatory goal.

Man Utd meanwhile just grinded without much bite in their end product against Leicester until substitutions ignited their spark, so I would like to see more composure and quality as they can’t rely on substitutions to spank their performances into life in every game.

Diallo’s injury therefore is a huge issue for Utd given how often he has saved their bacon in recent weeks and I honestly don’t see much quality coming from both teams unlike their Carabao Cup thriller in December, so a draw wouldn’t be any surprise at all in North London.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Man Utd

Result: Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd
