Williams have unveiled the FW47 car which will be driven by Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz in the 2025 F1 season.
Albon is back with Williams for a fourth consecutive season and will look to build upon a difficult 2024 which saw him collect just 12 points, whilst Carlos Sainz makes the move across from Ferrari after the Scuderia dropped him at the end of last season for Lewis Hamilton.
Williams’ new title partner, Atlassian was sported across the rear wing as the team ran a temporary navy blue livery, with the official livery set to be unveiled as part of F1 75 Live on 18 February at London’s O2 Arena.
Team Principal, James Vowles however is cautious on the team’s expectations with the FW47 car, but has refused to rule out a podium finish if luck falls their way at times throughout the season.
“Nothing is impossible. We have a lot more of the ingredients available to us. I think on a normal race weekend it is going to be unlikely but there are circumstances that will fall our way and we have two of the strongest drivers who will give it absolutely everything as will I and the team.”
Sainz was given the first run out of the FW47 at Silverstone in chilly conditions and the Spaniard was left pleased at how the car felt upon returning to the pits.
“I can tell you that everything went fine which is good news but the lap of a new-born car is always tricky but a bit of a fine-tune and we’re ready to get into the run plan.”
