2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week 32 – Tuesday

Watford host Leeds United at Vicarage Road in a huge midweek Championship encounter.

Victory will see Watford climb to seventh if Norwich lose to Preston, whilst Leeds can move five points clear of second-placed Sheffield United with a win.

Team News

Angelo Ogbonna and Rocco Vata are available for Watford after they missed the Hornets’ 2-2 draw at Sunderland due to illness.

Daniel Bachmann (ankle), Vakoun Bayo (suspension), Kwadwo Baah, Pierre Dwomoh (both thigh) and Caleb Wiley (fitness) remain sidelined.

Leeds have no fresh injury concerns following their FA Cup exit at home to Millwall, with Brendan Aaronson and Joel Piroe heading those looking for a recall to the starting line-up.

Patrick Bamford remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Watford host Leeds at Vicarage Road on Tuesday 11 February at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Watford are winless in their last five meetings against Leeds (D1, L4).
  • Leeds have claimed seven points in their last five league visits to Watford (W2, D1, L2).
  • Watford have kept just one clean sheet in their last seven league games at home to Leeds.
  • Watford’s last six home games have been settled by one-goal margins with five of those games ending in a 2-1 result, of which the Hornets won two of those five specific matches.
  • Leeds have kept clean sheets in four of their last five away games in the Championship (W3, D2).

Prediction

Although results haven’t often gone their way so far in 2025, Watford certainly know how to mount a strong fight amidst this run so will have to show more of their attacking grit and defend well if want a result here – particularly given that six of their last seven league losses were by one-goal margins.

Leeds though limped out of the FA Cup against Millwall with a much-changed line-up which is always a risk in terms of disrupting continuity and momentum, but I do expect the rest will of done good for their key players who should be right up for this game if can slip back into their form quickly.

Tom Cleverley’s Hornets though will mount a fierce fight but if Leeds dig in and let their quality show through, they should nick this.

Prediction: Watford 1-2 Leeds

Result: Watford 0-4 Leeds
