Rodin Motorsport have signed McLaren junior, Alex Dunne for the 2025 F2 season.

Dunne’s move to F2 comes after a single season in F3 where he finished 14th overall in the standings with podiums in the Spanish and Monza Sprint Races respectively.

Addressing his decision to step up to F2 after just a single season in F3, Dunne spoke of his happiness to make the move into the main feeder series to F1.

“I’m pleased to be able to confirm my plans for the 2025 season, which will see me joining Rodin Motorsport and participating in Formula 2. I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and thankful for everyone’s support in getting me to this stage – I can’t wait to hit the ground running.”

“We are delighted to welcome Alex to Rodin Motorsport,” commented Benn Huntingford, Sporting Director and F2 Team Manager, as he spoke of Dunne’s work ethic suiting their ambitions at Rodin.

“Alex’s talent, dedication, and passion for racing align perfectly with our team’s values and ambitions. We are confident that he will make a significant impact in the upcoming season and know that he is capable of enjoying a really great season with the us.”

Dunne began his single-seater career with a dual Spanish and ADAC F4 campaign in 2021 – of which he finished eighth in the latter championship, before he won the 2022 British F4 title and finished runner-up in Italian F4 that same year.

2023 saw him graduate to GB3 where he took five wins en-route to the vice-champion title which saw him earn a promotion to F3 with MP Motorsport last season.

This season will see Dunne not only race in F2 but also act as McLaren’s Formula E reserve driver on weekends which don’t clash with F2 action.
