Coventry host promotion chasing Leeds in a rearranged Championship clash at CBS Arena.
Victory could see Coventry climb to eighth in the table, whilst Leeds can move five points clear at the top with a win.
Team News
Matt Grimes could make his first appearance for Coventry following his move from Swansea last weekend, which saw him miss out on featuring in their 2-0 win at his former club after he wasn’t registered in time for the game.
Ben Sheaf (muscle), Haji Wright (ankle) and Ephron Mason-Clark (hamstring) aren’t expected to be available for selection.
Leeds have no fresh injury concerns following their 7-0 demolition of Cardiff, as only Patrick Bamford remains absent with a hamstring injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Coventry host Leeds at CBS Arena on Wednesday 5 February at 7:45pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Coventry have lost one of their last five league meetings against Leeds (W2, D2, L1).
- Leeds have won one of their last five visits to Coventry (W1, D1, L3).
- Coventry have won each of their last two home games against Leeds by 2-1 results in February 2012 and April 2024 respectively.
- Frank Lampard’s Sky Blues have conceded just one goal in their last four league matches (W4).
- Leeds are yet to win on the road in 2025 (D2).
Prediction
Unbeaten in four matches in which they kept clean sheets, Coventry certainly are closer to getting right into the play-off hunt but they will need to be defensively solid yet clinical up front if want a win here as they are in a test of where they currently stand quality wise.
Leeds absolutely demolished Cardiff with a clinically dominant display but they now must put that to one aside and focus because they can’t afford to get overconfident, especially when coming up against tougher competition as Coventry are currently in strong form and have had the upper hand at home lately in recent meetings.
Either way this is definitely going to be a tough scrap with both clubs having one eye on their FA Cup fixtures at the weekend, but I can’t see Leeds losing this if they turn up and play like they did at the weekend even if they need to grind it out this time.
Prediction: Coventry 1-2 Leeds
Result: Coventry 0-2 Leeds
