2024-25 League 2: Week 30 – Salford vs Bromley

Salford City meet Bromley in a rearranged Sky Bet League Two clash at Peninsula Stadium.

Victory will see Salford stay eighth unless they win by four or more goals which would lift them above Bradford into seventh in the table.

Bromley can climb to 12th with a win.

Team News

Salford could be without Liam Shepherd and Tom Edwards after the pair were injured in the Ammies’ 2-2 draw at Walsall last weekend.

Tyrese Fornah is available after he missed that trip due to suspension.

Bromley will welcome Omar Sowunmi back into defence after he was suspended for their 2-0 loss at home to Grimsby.

When is Kick-Off?

Salford host Bromley at Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday 4 February at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Salford’s first EFL meeting against Bromley after their initial clash in November 2024 was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
  • Bromley lost their only previous away league game against Salford (L1), which came in a 2-1 loss in 2018-19 National League with all three goals scored after the 84th minute.
  • Salford have claimed only two points in their last four league games (D2, L2).
  • Andy Woodman’s Ravens have claimed one point in their last five league matches (D1, L4).

Prediction

Having suffered a dip in league form since their brutal FA Cup exit at Manchester City a few weeks ago, Salford looked back to their best at Walsall until they conceded two late goals but there are some positives to build on if can maintain their defensive focus across 90 minutes.

Bromley likewise are in their own rut but after a lively first-half against Grimsby, defensive errors ultimately cost them in the second half so more improvement is needed if want to reignite their now-fading play-off ambitions starting with a win here.

Victory is therefore imperative for both teams but I do fancy Salford to have the edge unless Bromley can find an extra spark with Sowunmi back in defence, which looks a tough ask given that their goals have dried up a bit with one goal in their last four games.

Prediction: Salford 2-0 Bromley

Result: Salford 3-3 Bromley
