2024-25 Premier League: Week 24 – Man Utd vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United meet Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in a mid-table Premier League contest.

Victory would see Man Utd climb to 11th if Brentford lose at home to Tottenham, whilst Palace can leapfrog United with a win into 12th position.

Team News

Man Utd have no fresh injury concerns following their 2-0 Europa League victory at FCSB, but Jonny Evans (muscle), Mason Mount (leg) and Luke Shaw (unspecified) are still sidelined.

Palace will be without Eberechi Eze (knock) and Joel Ward (calf) for this trip to Old Trafford.

Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad (both knee), Adam Wharton (groin) and Matheus Franca (adductor) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Man Utd host Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday 2 February at 2pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Despite low-quality performances against Fulham and FCSB in separate competitions in the past week, Man Utd have somehow been the more clinical team to snatch consecutive wins but they really need to step it up a gear because they are capable of better displays.

Palace though just lacked much polish on their finishing touches in terms of end product against Brentford until too late despite plenty of positive attacking periods, but I do see them stepping it up here if can sort out their final touches and avoid the same sloppiness which befell Fulham and FCSB.

Either way I don’t foresee a classic here but if Palace can score first, I really can see them going on to get the win if not a draw at minimum.

Prediction: Man Utd 1-1 Crystal Palace
