2024-25 Premier League: Week 24 – Forest vs Brighton

Nottingham Forest host Brighton in a huge clash as both teams look to bounce back from defeats.

Victory or a draw will see Forest stay third in the table for another matchweek, whilst Brighton can go eighth with a win until at least early evening.

Team News

Forest will again be without Callum Hudson-Odoi after he missed their defeat at Bournemouth due to a groin injury.

Ibrahim Sangare (hamstring) remains sidelined.

Brighton could welcome Evan Ferguson back into contention following his recovery from an ankle injury.

Pervis Estupinan and Solly March are both ruled out with unspecified injuries.

Jason Steele (shoulder), Ferdi Kadioglu (toe), Igor Julio, James Milner (both hamstring) and Mats Wieffer ( thigh) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Forest host Brighton at City Ground on Saturday 1 February at 12:30pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Forest have won one of their five previous Premier League meetings against Brighton (W1, D2, L2).
  • Brighton have won one of their two previous Premier League trips to Forest (W1, L1).
  • Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White scored in both home appearances against Brighton.
  • Chris Wood has scored in both of Forest’s two home matches in the top-flight in 2025 (W1, D1).
  • Bart Verbruggen has made more errors which led to conceded goals than any other Brighton player this season (3).

Prediction

Following their off-day performance at Bournemouth where they just didn’t have any luck in their end product and were defensively outclassed, Forest now need to just reset and try to bounce back with a much stronger display otherwise their top-four spot will come under immense threat quickly.

Brighton meanwhile just lacked much end product in their unfortunate defeat to Everton due to a handball error but their second-half effort offers some confidence, especially as this feels like a must-win if want to stay close to their rivals for a top-seven finish.

Either way there is improvement needed from both teams here and a draw wouldn’t be too surprising.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Brighton

Result: Nottingham Forest 7-0 Brighton
