2024-25 UEFA Champions League: League Phase – PSG vs Man City

PSG host Manchester City in a crunch league phase fixture in 2024-25 UEFA Champions League.

Victory will move PSG into the unseeded knockout play-off spots whilst Man City can climb as high as 16th with a win if results elsewhere go their way.

Team News

Achraf Hakimi and Marquinhos are doubts for PSG after missing the club’s fixtures throughout January due to injury.

Ousmane Dembele is also set to return after he missed their last two games through illness.

New signing, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is ineligible to feature in PSG’s final two games of this stage.

Man City will again be without Nathan Ake after he missed their 6-0 Premier League victory at Ipswich due to a muscle injury.

Jeremy Doku hasn’t travelled due to an unspecified issue.

John Stones (foot) could return but Oscar Bobb (leg) and Rodri (knee) remain ruled out.

New signings, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov are ineligible for City until the knockout stages if they advance.

When is Kick-Off?

PSG host Man City at Parc Des Princes on Wednesday 22 January at 9pm CET (8pm GMT), live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Prediction

Having struggled against strong opposition so far in the league phase, PSG know that victory is imperative if they want a strong chance of progressing beyond this stage going into the final day, but they must find a way to stop leaking goals as their defence has been sloppy this past month.

Man City though are certainly back to their best after a ruthless away demolition at Ipswich but this will be much tougher opposition, although that win will give them real belief that they can get something if they continue to play as well as they’re doing currently.

If I am being honest, the first goal is probably going to be key but if Man City get in front early then I can’t see them losing this if stay focused defensively.

Prediction: PSG 1-2 Man City

Result: PSG 4-2 Man City
