Leyton Orient host Derby County in one of the concluding third round ties in 2024-25 FA Cup.
Victory would see Leyton Orient reach the fourth round for the first time since their run to the fifth round in 2010-11 season.
Derby meanwhile are looking to progress past this stage for the second time in three seasons.
Team News
Leyton Orient have no fresh injury concerns to report following the postponement of the initial tie at the weekend.
Theo Archibald (ACL) and Jordan Graham (knee) remain sidelined.
Derby could welcome Ebou Adams back into contention after nearly a fortnight out with concussion, having initially been ruled out of this fixture before it was postponed.
Corey Blackett-Taylor (groin) and Joe Ward (knee) are doubts but Eiran Cashin (hamstring), David Ozoh (quad) and Ryan Nyambe (knee) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Leyton Orient host Derby at Brisbane Road on Tuesday 14 January at 7:45pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Leyton Orient have won one of two previous FA Cup ties against Derby (W1, L1) across three overall meetings, having won 3-0 in March 1963 then lost 2-1 away in a replay following 2-2 draw in January 1975 (W1, D1, L1).
- Derby are winless in two previous away matches at Leyton Orient in the FA Cup (D1, L1).
- Orient have scored six goals in each of their three previous FA Cup meetings against Derby.
- Leyton Orient have won three of their last five FA Cup ties played at home (W3, L2).
- Derby have won two of their last 17 FA Cup matches away to London-based opposition (W2, D5, L10).
Prediction
Unbeaten in their last ten matches during which they kept eight clean sheets, Orient can quietly fancy their chances of a cupset now that they’ve found form at the right time but they will need to continue their defensive momentum if want to keep Derby quiet.
Derby meanwhile have bigger priorities to fry than a cup run after they got sucked into the Championship relegation battle, yet they should have the quality to get through if they can end their six-match away rut but their away FA Cup record in London is a bad hoodoo which they need to shake off.
Throw in the prospect of a glamourous home tie against Manchester City on offer in the next round and I do expect both teams to come out fighting, but Orient have the confidence and form to cause a cupset here.
Prediction: Leyton Orient 2-1 Derby
