2024-25 League 1: Week 26 – Rotherham vs Bolton

Rotherham meet Bolton in a huge League One clash at opposite ends of the table.

Victory will lift Rotherham up to 13th in the table before Stevenage and Blackpool play in the mid-afternoon kick-offs, whilst Bolton can climb to seventh with a win.

Team News

Rotherham have no fresh injury or suspension issues to report following their goalless draw at Huddersfield.

Bolton could hand new signing, Joel Randall a club debut following his switch from Peterborough.

Josh Sheehan (hamstring) is back in training and could feature if match fit but Kyle Dempsey (knee) and Eoin Toal (hamstring) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Rotherham host Bolton at New York Stadium on Saturday 11 January at 12:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports + in the UK.

Prediction

Sat firmly in mid-table but just eight points above the drop zone, Rotherham just need to trying to build some momentum in a disappointing season by their standards, but they did well to grind out a goalless draw at Huddersfield despite being utterly outclassed in the first half.

Bolton meanwhile might not be in hot form on the road but they can take belief from their comeback win at Exeter last weekend, as this game is a huge opportunity to put pressure upon their rivals in the play-off hunt if they can end their Rotherham hoodoo here.

I however do feel that Rotherham are more comfortably at home lately and given their head-to-head form, you have to favour them but I do think that Bolton do have enough quality to nick a point here.

Prediction: Rotherham 1-1 Bolton

Result: Rotherham 3-1 Bolton
