Midfielder, Ben Thompson has completed a permanent transfer to Bromley from Stevenage.
Thompson joined Andy Woodman’s Ravens on loan in August 2024 and netted three goals plus contributed two assists in 22 appearances in all competitions, during which he achieved both one goal and assist in a 5-2 Boxing Day victory at home to Newport County amidst Bromley’s 12-match unbeaten run which ended in a 4-1 loss at Crewe Alexandra.
The 29 year-old midfielder has now converted his loan into a permanent transfer and is happy to be back at a south-London club, having previously scored 12 goals in 175 appearances for Millwall between 2014 – 22 seasons which included promotion from League One to Championship at end of 2016-17 campaign.
I’m delighted to have signed for this brilliant club.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute of it so far and we’ve been successful in the games we’ve had so far. Hopefully that can continue for the rest of the season.
“I’m looking forward to the future.”
Stevenage issued a club statement confirming Thompson’s permanent move in which they commented: “Stevenage Football Club has agreed terms with Bromley FC for the permanent transfer of Ben Thompson.
“The 29-year-old departs The Lamex Stadium having made 41 appearances since joining in June 2023.
“The Club thanks Ben and wishes him the best of luck in this next stage of his career.”
