2024-25 Premier League: Week 20 – Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Crystal Palace host Chelsea at Selhurst Park in a London derby.

Victory could lift Palace up to 13th if West Ham loses elsewhere, whilst Chelsea can go third with a win.

Team News

Trevoh Chalobah is ineligible for Palace to face his parent club.

Marc Guehi will replace Chalobah in defence following his return from suspension.

Adam Wharton (groin), Matheus Franca (adductor) and Rob Holding (personal) remain sidelined.

Chelsea will again be without Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall due to a knock

Romeo Lavia (thigh) and Carney Chukwuemeka (illness) are again doubts for selection.

Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension), Benoit Badiashile (unspecified), Wesley Fofana and Omari Kellyman (all hamstring) are still ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Palace host Chelsea at Selhurst Park on Saturday 4 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised in the UK.

Prediction

After a brilliant recovery with improved attacking intensity to beat Southampton following a sloppy start defensively, Palace have to be solid from the get-go if want any chance of getting any points here.

Chelsea though were wasteful in defeats to Fulham and Ipswich in their last two matches despite periods of dominance, so I do expect them to come out with a point to prove now that their title ambitions look to be over.

Palace however won’t be easy to beat now they have hit their groove unlike in their last meeting.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea

Result: Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea
