2024-25 Premier League: Week 17 – Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Crystal Palace meet Premier League title-chasing Arsenal at Selhurst Park in a London derby.

Victory could lift Palace up to 14th if West Ham lose elsewhere, whilst Arsenal can stay third with a win and move to within one point of second-placed Chelsea – who don’t play until Sunday.

Team News

Daniel Munoz is suspended for Palace following his fifth top-flight booking of the season in last weekend’s win at Brighton.

Chadi Riad (fitness) is a doubt but Eberechi Eze (foot) is ruled out.

Adam Wharton (groin), Matheus Franca (adductor) and Rob Holding (personal) remain sidelined.

Arsenal could welcome Declan Rice back into contention after he sat out their midweek Carabao Cup win over Palace with a knock.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (muscle) and Riccardo Calafiori (knee) could return, but Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White (both knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Palace host Arsenal at Selhurst Park on Saturday 21 December at 5:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Although they were outclassed by Arsenal in midweek following the decision to go too strong initially which led to some weak substitutions, Palace now know what they need to do if want to avenge that defeat and make those tactical tweaks.

Arsenal though will be much stronger from the start but I would stick with Gabriel Jesus up front given his hat-trick performance, although they will be wary of Palace’s attacking pace.

If Mikel Arteta’s Gunners can nullify Palace’s pace and control the game from early on, they should win this but Palace are in form so might just nick a point if can learn from the loss in North London.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Arsenal

Result: Crystal Palace 1-5 Arsenal
