F1 have announced that the Italian Grand Prix will stay on the calendar until 2031.
The iconic race will continue to be held at Autodromo Nazionale Di Monza until 2031, thus extending its’ record of being on the calendar every year – except 1980 when it moved to Imola whilst Monza undertook upgrade work.
F1 President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali welcomed Monza’s new contract which “delighted” him, with one of F1’s most iconic venues and Ferrari’s home race now secured on a new long-term deal with “strong commitment” to upgrades.
“Monza is at the very heart of Formula 1 history and the atmosphere each year is unique as the Tifosi gather in huge numbers to cheer on Ferrari and the drivers.
President of Automobile Club d’Italia, Angelo Sticchi Damiani added that the new contract is “a great honour for us,” on a new six-season deal once the current contract expires after next season.
Damiani proceeded to praise Domenicali for his “valuable and decisive contribution” to secure the contract, in-turn ensuring that the longest-serving race track continues to serve the longest-serving Grand Prix on the F1 calendar.
“We are all aware that history is no longer enough. Following the resurfacing of the track and underpasses to improve the safety on track and for the fans, we are now faced with a new challenge in 2025: improving the quality and quantity of hospitality offerings.
“With this goal in mind, we are already working to keep ahead of the standards required by modern Formula 1.”
