Five Key Pointers
- After racing in extreme heat in 2023 which took its toll on various drivers, everyone will face cooler conditions due to being held later this year.
- Unlike their last two visits in 2021 and 2023, F1 will now have F2 in tow which could lead to lower track evolution due to extra on-track action.
- With more medium and high-speed corners than in Las Vegas, McLaren will be expected to bounce back and fight for victory.
- After tyre issues limited teams to maximum 18-lap stints in last year’s race, Practice will be key to understanding how the tyres work and interact with kerbs.
- Possibility of high winds and sand breezing across the track the track will provide a test of car stability and grip.
Last Time Out
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri won the sprint race from Verstappen – who clinched his third title in that race, before Verstappen dominated the Grand Prix with teams forced onto a thee-stopper due to tyre issues.
