Tottenham entertain Roma in a huge league phase fixture in 2024-25 UEFA Europa League.
Victory will see Tottenham stay in the top eight whilst Roma look to move into the knockout play-off seeded positions with a win.
Team News
Guglielmo Vicario is ruled out for Tottenham after he needed surgery on an ankle injury, which he had suffered in a 4-0 Premier League win at Manchester City.
Rodrigo Bentancur will be available because his suspension only applies to domestic competitions.
Will Lankshear is suspended after his red card in their league phase loss at Galatasaray before the international break.
Mikey Moore (illness), Cristian Romero (toe), Mickey van de Ven, Timo Werner, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison (all hamstring) are sidelined.
Roma will be without Eldor Shomurodov due to a muscle injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Roma at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday 28 November at 8pm GMT, live on TNT Sport 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Tottenham’s first competitive meeting against Roma.
- Roma are playing away to Tottenham in North London in a competitive fixture for the first time.
- Spurs have lost one of their last five home games against Italian opposition in all UEFA competitions (W2, D2, L1).
- Tottenham have scored four goals at home without conceding in this phase.
- Roma have won one of their last five European away games (W1, D2, L2).
Prediction
Following their ruthlessly clinical demolition of Man City, Tottenham should have confidence but rotation and Vicario’s injury makes their momentum to build on tougher, yet they’re yet to concede at home in Europe this season.
Roma meanwhile have struggled on their away European travels recently and frankly have been lacklustre on the road all season, which is a massive concern for a team who have kept just two away clean sheets this campaign.
Spurs therefore should smell victory if play like they did at Man City but it would be typical of them to lose this, although I ultimately can’t see Roma getting anything other than a draw at best.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Roma
Result: Tottenham 2-2 Roma
