2024-25 UEFA Nations League: League B – Wales vs Iceland

Wales meet Iceland in a must-win League B4 clash in 2024-25 UEFA Nations League.

Only victory would see Wales promoted to League A if Turkey fail to beat Montenegro, but a draw would see them enter the League A-B promotion-relegation play-offs, yet defeat would put them in the League B-C promotion-relegation play-offs.

Iceland must simply beat Wales to enter the League A-B promotion-relegation play-offs, otherwise they will go into the League B-C promotion-relegation play-offs.

Team News

Wales have no fresh injury concerns following their goalless draw away to Turkey.

Iceland will be without Hiynur Freyr Karlsson, Kolbeinn Finnsson, Daniel Leo Gretarsson and Mikael Anderson due to injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Wales host Iceland at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 19 November at 7:45pm GMT, live on S4C and BBC iPlayer in the UK.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Despite being outplayed in Turkey, Wales delivered a resilient defensive display to keep their promotion hopes alive, so their aim here has to be to deliver a more attacking display and not defensively implode like they did in Reykjavik.

Iceland though have been inconsistent results-wise in this group and must simply win but know that they’ve got the attacking quality to cause issues, so I expect them to come out fighting for the win from the first whistle.

Wales’ home record against Iceland though is strong and they should have enough to prevail if they score first.

Prediction: Wales 2-1 Iceland

Result: Wales 4-1 Iceland
