2024-25 UEFA Champions League: League Phase – Celtic vs RB Leipzig

Celtic host RB Leipzig at Celtic Park in a must-win league phase fixture in 2024-25 UEFA Champions League.

Victory could put Celtic back into the seeded knockout play-off spots, whilst RB Leipzig can move into the unseeded knockout play-off section with a win.

Team News

Celtic have no fresh injury concerns to report coming into this fixture.

RB Leipzig will be without defender, Castello Lukeba who suffered a thigh injury prior to their Bundesliga loss at Borussia Dortmund.

Xavi Simons, David Raum (both ankle) and Xaver Schlager (ACL) are ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Celtic host RB Leipzig at Celtic Park on Tuesday 5 November at 8pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 2 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Celtic have won one of three previous meetings against RB Leipzig (W1, L3).
  • RB Leipzig have won one of two previous away trips to Celtic (W1, L1).
  • Celtic are yet to keep a clean sheet at home to RB Leipzig.
  • Brendan Rogers’ Hoops have kept one clean sheet in three league phase fixtures.
  • RB Leipzig are winless in their last five Champions League matches (D1, L4).

Prediction

Following their ruthless 6-0 Scottish League Cup semi-final demolition of Aberdeen, Celtic should come into this home game full of confidence especially after their last European game ended in a goalless draw at Atalanta.

RB Leipzig though saw their unbeaten domestic start end at Dortmund and are winless in Europe this season, yet they do have the attacking quality to be getting results in this competition if can sort out the defence.

Goals therefore feel like a decent bet here but if Celtic score first, they might just have the edge if there is a winner.

Prediction: Celtic 1-1 RB Leipzig

Result: Celtic 3-1 RB Leipzig
