Tottenham face Aston Villa in a huge Premier League contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Victory would lift Spurs up to seventh whilst Villa can go third with a win.
Team News
Mickey van de Ven is ruled out for Tottenham after he suffered a hamstring injury in their midweek Carabao Cup win over Manchester City.
Djed Spence (groin), Son Heung-min (fitness), Cristian Romero and Timo Werner (both knock) are doubts.
Wilson Odobert (hamstring) is ruled out.
Villa have no fresh injury concerns following their Carabao Cup exit against Crystal Palace, with Ross Barkley (unspecified) sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 3 November at 2pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have won three of their last seven meetings against Aston Villa (W3, L4).
- Villa have won one of their last four visits to Spurs (W3, L1).
- Villa’s Ollie Watkins has scored in two of his last three away appearances against Tottenham.
- Six of Tottenham’s 18 league goals this season were scored by Brennan Johnson and Son Heung-min, who have both netted three goals apiece.
- Villa have won each of their two visits to the UK capital this season (W2), but failed to keep cleans in wins at West Ham and Fulham.
Prediction
Following their ruthless energetic win over Man City, pressure is now on Spurs to build upon that win with a more clinical display because they have a good chance to put themselves within two points of the top four.
Villa meanwhile will be disappointed to have crashed out of the Carabao Cup to Palace but with squad rotation at play, I do expect them to bounce back although they must be more clinical than they were last weekend against Bournemouth.
Nevertheless I expect a proper battle between two top-quality teams and a draw would be a fair outcome.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Aston Villa
Result: Tottenham 4-1 Aston Villa
