Relegation battling Wolves host Premier League title chasing Manchester City at Molineux.
Victory could see Wolves climb as high as 17th in the table, whilst Man City can go top with a win unless Liverpool beat Chelsea in the late kick-off.
Team News
Hwang Hee-Chan is ruled out for Wolves after he suffered an ankle injury whilst on international duty for South Korea.
Bastien Meupiyou (unspecified), Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore (both knee), Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez (both ACL) remain sidelined.
Man City could welcome Nathan Ake back into contention after a month out with a hamstring injury.
Kevin De Bruyne (groin) is also set to feature if fit but he and Ake won’t start the game.
Rodri (knee) and Oscar Bobb (leg) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Wolves host Man City at Molineux on Sunday 20 October at 2pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wolves have won one of their last eight meetings against Man City (W1, L7).
- Man City have won three of their last five visits to Wolves (W3, L2).
- Wolves’ Hwang Hee-Chan scored in both appearances against City last season (W1, L1).
- Joao Gomes has made more passes than any Wolves player this season, with 278 passes achieved in seven league appearances.
- Four of Man City’s six league goals on the road this season were scored by Erling Haaland.
Prediction
After their defensive disaster against a high-intensity Brentford despite bravely taking the fight to them on the attack with three goals, Wolves know that their defence needs to be more solid if want any points here.
Man City though were sloppy defensively in their eventual win over Fulham where they were lucky that the Cottagers wasted chances, whilst they were just more clinical but I do expect a more dominant performance here.
In fact if City turn up fully refreshed from the international break, I can see them beating Wolves’ shaky defence but the Old Gold will be a threat going forward as seen already this season.
Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Manchester City
Result: Wolves 1-2 Manchester City
