Chesterfield host Notts County at SMH Group Stadium in a League Two fixture.
Victory would lift Chesterfield up to seventh in the table for at least a few hours, whilst Notts County can go top with a win ahead of the mid-afternoon games.
Team News
Chesterfield will hand Devon Tanton and John Fleck face late fitness tests due to separate injury issues.
Notts County will again be without winger, Jodi Jones due to a shin injury which has sidelined him until New Year.
When is Kick-Off?
Chesterfield host Nott County at SMH Group Stadium on Saturday 12 October at 12:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Chesterfield have claimed seven points from their last six meetings against Notts County (W2, D1, L3).
- Notts County have won one of their last five visits to Chesterfield (W1, D1, L3).
- Two of Chesterfield’s last three home games against Notts County ended in a 3-1 result, of which both teams took one win apiece plus a 1-1 draw.
- Dilan Markanday has scored in each of Chesterfield’s last three home matches in League 2 (W1, D2).
- Notts County are yet to lose away from home this season in the fourth-tier (W3, D2).
Prediction
Although Chesterfield are unbeaten at home, they do tend to scrape draws mainly but don’t have a clean sheet compared to two on the road, which should hopefully make for an entertaining game.
Notts County don’t seem to be missing Jones with plenty of goalscorers who can fill his void, yet they’ve won just one of their last four league games and were just wasteful in their loss to Port Vale.
The Magpies however do remain a big threat given their attacking quality and this fixture has recently produced plenty of drama, so I do expect quite a competitive game and a draw might be a fair outcome.
Prediction: Chesterfield 1-1 Notts County
Result: Chesterfield 2-2 Notts County
