Roundup of the latest Championship action heading into October’s international break.

Junior Firpo’s injury-time own-goal saw Sunderland stay top with a 2-2 draw at home to fifth-placed Leeds, after Chris Rigg initially put them ahead before Joel Piroe and Firpo turned the game around for Daniel Farke’s Whites.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s brace saw Sheffield United move up to second on goal difference with a 2-0 win at home to Luton.

Burnley slipped to third with a goalless draw at home to Lancashire rivals, Preston.

West Brom remained fourth following their goalless draw at home to Millwall, which saw the Baggies’ winless run extended to three matches.

Comeback goals from Edo Kayembe and Kwadwo Baah saw Watford round out the top six with a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough, after George Edmundson had fired Boro ahead at Vicarage Road.

Down in the relegation zone, Cardiff remain rock-bottom on goal difference after Ollie Tanner’s strike was cancelled out by Luke McNally’s header, as the Bluebirds drew 1-1 at Bristol City.

Portsmouth remained second-bottom after a 1-1 draw at home to Oxford United, during which Mark O’Mahony’s header was cancelled out by Louie Sibley’s equaliser.

Quick-fire goals from Curtis Nelson and Mark Harness saw Derby beat third-bottom QPR 2-0 at Pride Park.

Elsewhere, goals from Marcelino Nunez, Josh Sargent, Kaide Gordon and Borja Sainz saw Norwich thrash Hull 4-0 at Carrow Road, which lifted the Canaries up to seventh.

Morgan Whittaker netted a 97th minute winner as Plymouth condemned Blackburn to a second consecutive defeat with a 2-1 win, having initially led through Michael Obafemi before Joe Rankin-Costello headed in an equalising goal.

Shea Charles struck an injury-time winner as Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to win 2-1 at Coventry, in which Djeidi Gassama cancelled out Jack Rudoni’s opening goal.

Finally, Swansea held Stoke to a goalless draw in South Wales
