Bristol City host Cardiff City at Ashton Gate in the Severnside derby.
Victory will see Bristol City climb to tenth in the table, whilst Cardiff can move off the foot of the table into 23d position with a win.
Team News
Bristol City have no fresh injury concerns to report following their goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.
Rob Atkinson (groin) is unlikely to be risked as he nears a full return to the matchday squad.
Cardiff could welcome Jesper Daland back from an ankle injury, which had sidelined him since late August.
Ryotaro Tsunoda, Ollie Tanner (both muscle), Callum O’Dowda, Kion Etete (both leg), Aaron Ramsey and Will Fish (both hamstring) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Bristol City host Cardiff at Ashton Gate on Sunday 6 October at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Bristol City have won three of their last seven meetings against Cardiff (W3, L4).
- Cardiff have won three of their last five visits to Bristol City (W3, L2).
- Two of Cardiff’s last three away wins against Bristol City were by 1-0 results.
- Joe Williams has been booked in each of Bristol City’s last three home matches.
- Cardiff have conceded 11 goals in four league games on the road this season (D1, L3).
Prediction
Unbeaten in three games and having scrapped their way to a goalless draw against Wednesday, Bristol City now need to find a win if want to start climbing the table as two of their next three games are tough.
Cardiff meanwhile have their tails up their backside coming off the back of their first win of the season, having produced a clinical set-piece winner to beat Millwall in a cagey clash which has to be the foundations to build upon in this derby.
I therefore do not expect this game to be a classic and a draw feels the safest call to make.
Prediction: Bristol City 1-1 Cardiff
