2024-25 Premier League: Week Six – Arsenal vs Leicester

Arsenal host winless Leicester City at Emirates Stadium in a Premier League encounter.

Victory could put Arsenal top if Manchester City fail to win in the lunchtime kick-off, whilst Leicester could go 13th with a win.

Team News

Leandro Trossard is available for Arsenal after he served his one-match ban in their Carabao Cup win over Bolton in midweek, having been sent off in their 2-2 draw at Man City last weekend.

David Raya (muscle), Jurrien Timber (unspecified) and Ben White (knee) are doubtful for selection.

Mikel Merino (shoulder), Martin Odegaard (ankle), Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) and Kieran Tierney (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns after their midweek Carabao Cup victory at Walsall on penalties.

Jannik Vestergaard, Jakub Stolarczyk and Patson Daka (all ankle) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Arsenal host Leicester at Emirates Stadium on Saturday 28 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Although discipline has been an issue for Arsenal in league matches, they will relish this game which is winnable if they can play their attacking best but I would like to see a faster start than they produced at Man City.

Winless Leicester meanwhile know that this is a free hit but their defensive organisation has been tricky for opposition teams to break down, which is going to have to be their best weapon here if want a result.

I however don’t see that coming because this should be a routine win for Arsenal if they can play their fast-paced press and break down the Foxes’ defence.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Leicester

Result: Arsenal 4-2 Leicester
