2024-25 Premier League: Week Two – Wolves vs Chelsea

Wolves meet Chelsea at Molineux as both team chase a first league win of the season.

Victory would see either Wolves or Chelsea get off the mark in the league table, having both lost their opening matches.

Team News

Wolves have no fresh injury concerns following their 2-0 opening loss at Arsenal.

Nelson Semedo (suspension), Sasa Kalajdzic, Enso Gonzalez (both ACL) and Leon Chiwome (ankle) are ruled out.

Chelsea could be without Cole Palmer after he suffered a knock in their 2-0 Play-Off First Leg win over Servette in UEFA Conference League

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Chelsea at Molineux on Sunday 25 August at 2pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Wolves were never really going to get anything at Arsenal so for me, this is where their season truly starts because they did a great job defensively to frustrate the Gunners but didn’t take their chances enough when on the attack.

Chelsea meanwhile clinically beat Servette on Thursday evening so can afford to focus a bit more on this game ahead of the second leg, so I do expect a strong performance despite having not dominated Servette.

Molineux though hasn’t exactly been the strongest away ground for Chelsea in recent seasons, and with Wolves surely viewing this as a season starter I can see a tough draw coming unless one team are super clinical.

Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Chelsea

Result: Wolves 2-6 Chelsea
