Bournemouth meet Newcastle United at Vitality Stadium in a Premier League encounter.

Victory would see Bournemouth record their first win of the season, whilst Newcastle seek to continue their early momentum.

Club-record signing, Evanilson could make his debut for Bournemouth after he didn’t feature in their draw at Nottingham Forest.

Marcos Senesi (illness) could return but Tyler Adams (back), David Brooks (shoulder) and Enes Unal (foot) remain ruled out.

Newcastle will be without defender, Fabian Schar after he was sent off in their opening win over Southampton.

Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles (both knee), Lewis Miley (metatarsal), Callum Wilson (back) and Sandro Tonali (suspension) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Bournemouth host Newcastle at Vitality Stadium on Sunday 25 August at 2pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Bournemouth have won one of their last six league meetings against Newcastle (W1, D3, L2).
  • Newcastle are unbeaten in five of their last six league trips to Bournemouth (W2, D3, L1).
  • Ex Bournemouth striker, Dominic Solanke scored three goals across both meetings against Newcastle last season.
  • 10 of Bournemouth’s 13 shots against Forest were produced by Antoine Semenyo and Marcus Tavernier, who both created five shots apiece.
  • Alexander Isak was the only Newcastle player caught offside in their home win over Southampton.

Prediction

Despite losing Dominic Solanke to Tottenham, Bournemouth seemed to cope well without him at Forest because they looked solid aside from a small defensive error, whilst their attack was sharp if slightly wasteful at times.

Newcastle meanwhile weren’t exactly at their best against Southampton but even despite going down to ten men, they were stubborn defensively but clinical in attack so I expect more of the same but with improved energy.

On that note, I can see this clash being quite cagey at times but full of attack with a draw come full time.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle

Result: Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle
