2024-25 League One: Week Three – Wrexham vs Reading

Wrexham host Reading at the Racecourse Ground in a stand-out League One match.

Locked on four points apiece in eighth and fifth positions respectively, victory could see either Wrexham or Reading go top if those around them in the top eight fail to win elsewhere.

When is Kick-Off?

Wrexham host Reading at Racecourse Ground on Saturday 24 August at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Wrexham are winless in their last six meetings against Reading (D1, L6).
  • Reading have won four of their last six visits to Wrexham (W4, L2).
  • Wrexham have scored one goal and conceded five goals in their last three home games against Reading.
  • Wrexham have kept just one clean sheet in their last four home matches (W4).
  • Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan has scored in each of Reading’s two league matches this season.

Prediction

With four points on the board after digging deep to claim a goalless draw at Bolton last weekend, Wrexham will now relish being back at home for this clash where they will hopefully turn on their usual attacking flair.

Reading meanwhile finally seem to have some stability and outclassed Wigan rather comfortably at home last weekend, but this will be a tough test for the Royals given their small squad size so another dominant display will be needed.

Wrexham though seem to have already found their feet in League One and if they can score first, they should look to go on and win this but Reading look defensively solid and capable of finding the net.

Prediction: Wrexham 2-1 Reading

Result: Wrexham 3-0 Reading
