Sky Announce Championship Broadcast Picks Across August – September 2024

Sky Sports have announced their Championship fixture broadcast selection covering matchweeks two – seven of 2024-25 season. 

Sky will air nine fixtures live on Sky Sports Football until the first international break of the season, with Leeds’ trips to West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday on 17 and 23 August amongst selected fixtures.

The Welsh derby between Swansea and Cardiff will be shown live at 3pm BST on Sunday 25 August, with Sky six days later broadcasting the Lancashire derby between Burnley and Blackburn at Turf Moor in a 12:30pm kick-off.

After the international break, the Championship resumes on Friday 13 September with Sheffield United’s televised trip to Hull at 8pm.

Other September highlights includes the Tees-Wear derby as Middlesbrough visit Sunderland at 12:30pm on Saturday 21 September, whilst Preston host Blackburn in a Lancashire derby at 12pm on 22 September.

Under Sky Sports’ new contract, there will be additional fixtures streamed at 12:30pm on Saturdays live on Sky Sports + in weekend rounds alongside the main channel pick, with highlight fixtures including:

• Derby v Middlesbrough (17 August)
• Cardiff v Middlesbrough (31 August)
• Leeds v Burnley (14 September)
• QPR v Millwall (21 September)
• Norwich v Watford (21 September)
• Blackburn v QPR (28 September)

As already announced when the season’s fixtures were announced, all 12 opening fixtures would be broadcast live across Sky Sports – with Blackburn and Oxford Utd’s home games against Derby and Norwich chosen for Sky Sports Football on 9 and 10 August.

Plymouth’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday on 11 August and the blockbuster clash between Luton and Burnley on 12 August will also air on Sky Sports Football, whilst the rest will be streamed on Sky Sports +.
