ITV will show England’s Round of 16 tie against Slovakia as latest split of UK broadcast picks alongside BBC at UEFA Euro 2024 are announced.
Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions topped Group C despite below-par performances and will now face Slovakia at Arena AufSchalke, Gelsenkirchen, on Sunday 30 June at 6pm CEST (5pm UK Time) live on ITV1 for UK-based fans as ITV’s first pick of the Round of 16.
ITV also held second and third picks which saw the British broadcaster opt for Spain’s tie against minnows, Georgia at 8pm BST on Sunday 30 June with their second pick, whilst Germany’s clash against Denmark at 8pm on 29 June was their third pick
BBC held the fourth overall pick and selected Switzerland’s tie against reigning champions, Italy, at 5pm on Saturday 29 June, in order to guarantee one of the four weekend fixtures.
ITV then used the fifth pick to select France’s blockbuster encounter against Belgium at 5pm on Monday 1 July.
BBC had sixth pick which they exercised on Portugal’s clash against Slovenia at 8pm on 1 July, which left ITV to use their final pick to pick up Austria’s game against Turkey at 8pm on Tuesday 2 July as the seventh overall pick.
BBC who had the eighth and last Round of 16 pick were left with an intriguing matchup between Romania and Netherlands at 5pm on 2 July.
