BBC will televise Wales and England’s Round of 16 ties at Euro 2020 as UK broadcast selections for the first knockout stage are finalised.
Wales’ clash against Denmark in Amsterdam on Saturday 26 June 2021 will kick off the first of two double-headers for BBC with kick-off at 5pm BST UK Time, with the broadcaster then airing Italy’s tie against Austria from 8pm BST that evening live at Wembley Stadium, London.
England’s blockbuster match against Germany at Wembley Stadium at 5pm BST will then form the first of BBC’s second double-header on Tuesday 29 June, followed by Sweden vs Ukraine at Hampden Park from 8pm BST with the winners of those two matches set to meet in the Quarter-Finals.
All four of BBC’s picks will be televised live on BBC One as well as available for live streaming on BBC iPlayer across all devices if unable to watch via television.
ITV meanwhile will air the middle four games in double-headed blocks on Sunday 27 and Monday 28 June respectively, starting with Netherlands’ clash against Czech Republic from 5pm BST on 27 June which will be followed by a massive match in Seville, Spain, as reigning champions, Portugal face Belgium.
Croatia’s mouth-watering encounter against Spain will then kick off ITV’s double bill on Monday 28 June at 5pm BST, before France take on bordering neighbours, Switzerland in Bucharest, Romania from 8pm that evening with the winners of those two ties set to meet in the Quarter-Finals on Friday 2 July.
