Ji-soo Kim and Ben Winterbottom have been promoted to Brentford’s senior team for 2024-25 season.
Defender, Kim joined the Bees in June 2023 from South Kore’s Seongnam and has impressed for the B-Team with one goal in 29 appearances.
“Ji-soo is another example of the project here,” commented Brentford B head coach, Neil MacFarlane, who credited Kim for his adaptability to the English footballing culture.
“I applaud Ji-soo, as he has come from a completely different culture, has had to learn a new language and settle in.
“Now with this promotion, I hope that he continues to show his capabilities and works hard to be the best he possibly can be.”
Winterbottom meanwhile joined from Liverpool in January 2021 and spent last season on loan at National League South’s Welling United, where he managed to keep two clean sheets in 14 appearances.
MacFarlane described Winterbottom as “a fantastic servant to the B team,” across his time in the squad.
On Winterbottom’s move to the senior squad, MacFarlane believes that he has earned the chance through his work ethic and consistent form.
“He deserves this opportunity for his high professionalism and consistency of performances throughout his time at the club.
“He is a very reliable young goalkeeper, and this is another good step in his career.”
