UEFA Euro Women 2025 Qualifiers: France vs England

France host England at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in a crunch UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 qualifier.

Victory would see France secure qualification for the main tournament, but they can also top the group too if Sweden fail to beat Republic of Ireland elsewhere.

England meanwhile must better Sweden’s result if want to reclaim second place in the group ahead of their final two qualifiers in July.

France have no fresh injury concerns to report ahead of this match following their win last Friday.

England have called up Lucy Thomas to the squad in place of fellow goalkeeper, Mary Earps who has been ruled out with a hip injury.

When is Kick-Off

France host England at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Saint Etienne, on Tuesday 4 June at 9pm CEST, live on ITV4 in the UK.

Prediction

Despite snatching a clinical win from set-pieces at St James’ Park to put qualification within sight, France didn’t look particularly impressive on the attack in open play despite a solid defensive display aside from poor marking of Beth Mead’s goal.

England meanwhile must simply do much better defensively from set-pieces because they otherwise would of likely got a draw, but they also must be more clinical than they were at home so there is a lot of work to do if want to keep qualification within their reach.

France though hasn’t been a kind country to England’s Lionesses in the last 51 years but if they can learn from Friday’s defensive failings, I can see them snatching a result here.

Prediction: France 1-1 England

Result: France 1-2 England
