From the late thrill of Imola to the glitz and glamour of the Principality, F1 hits the streets for the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen comes into this round as championship leader with a 48-point lead over Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who leads a chasing pack of Sergio Perez, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz as the quartet seek to mount a title challenge against the three-time reigning champion.
Monaco though is a race which can deliver surprises due to its tight and twisty nature so nothing is guaranteed coming into the weekend.

Five Key Pointers
- Given limited overtaking opportunities around Monaco, this race weekend will be mainly about Qualifying which is likely to determine much of the eventual race order.
- With straight-line speed less of an issue around this high-downforce, there is potential for a mini shake-up further down the pecking order concerning some teams.
- Given the potential for safety cars at any moment around Monaco, this race should throw open mixed tyre strategies if some drivers are out of position and run longer in hope of safety car periods.
- Cool temperatures are forecast across the weekend which could well suit some teams more than others.
- Having performed well at high downforce tracks this season, McLaren could be considered a strong contender here at a circuit which can throw up some surprises in Qualifying.
