Crystal Palace look to chase a top-ten finish as they face Aston Villa at Selhurst Park.
Victory could see Palace finish 10th if Brighton and Bournemouth both fail to win elsewhere, whilst Villa are already assured of fourth regardless of their result.
Team News
Naouirou Ahamada is suspended for Crystal Palace after he was sent off in their win at Wolves last weekend.
Will Hughes (knee) is also sidelined but Jefferson Lerma (muscle) is set to return.
Sam Johnstone (elbow), Rob Holding (hamstring), Matheus Franca (adductor) and Cheick Docoure (Achilles) remain absent.
Villa will be without midfielder, Youri Tielemans after he suffered an adductor injury during their comeback 3-3 draw against Liverpool.
Alex Moreno (knock) could return if he passes a late fitness test.
Matty Cash (calf), Nicolo Zaniolo (metatarsal), Jacob Ramsey (toe), Morgan Rogers (hamstring), Tyrone Mings, Boubacar Kamara (both knee) and Emiliano Buendia (ACL) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Palace host Villa on Sunday 19 May at 4pm BST at Selhurst Park, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Crystal Palace have won one of their last five meetings against Aston Villa (W1, D1, L3).
- Villa have won one of their last five league trips to Palace (W1, L4).
- Palace are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive losses against Villa since a four-match streak between February 1980 – October 1987.
- Jean-Philippe Mateta has been involved in 17 league goals for Palace this season, having scored 13 goals and created four assists in 34 appearances.
- Villa’s Ollie Watkins is one of two English players to have been involved in 32 league goals this season alongside Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.
Prediction
Unbeaten in their last six matches and in with an outside chance of a top-ten finish, Palace certainly can enjoy this final day because they’ve played some excellent football lately with an intensity – of which Wolves couldn’t live with last weekend.
Villa meanwhile will be glad to have fourth place wrapped up given their recent defensive rut and poor form at Selhurst Park, so this is a chance for them to just relax and enjoy the occasion ahead of what will be a tough campaign next season with Champions League football.
Palace though do seem to relish final-day matches at home and given their current form, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they edge this game.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 Aston Villa
Result: Crystal Palace 5-0 Aston Villa
