Manchester United entertain title-chasing Arsenal at Old Trafford in a blockbuster Premier League encounter.
Victory would see Man Utd stay eighth in the table, whilst Arsenal can return to the league summit with a win.
Team News
Mason Mount is ruled out for Man Utd with an unspecified injury.
Scott McTominay (knee), Bruno Fernandes (wrist) and Marcus Rashford (ankle) could return.
Willy Kambwala (knock), Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw (all muscle), Lisandro Martinez (calf), Victor Lindelöf (hamstring), Tyrell Malacia (knee) and Anthony Martial (groin) remain sidelined.
Arsenal could be without Bukayo Saka after he suffered a shin injury during their home win over Bournemouth.
Takehiro Tomiyasu (knock) and Jurrien Timber (ACL) are doubtful for selection and face late fitness tests.
When is Kick-Off?
Man Utd host Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday 12 May at 4:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Man Utd have won two of their last five league meetings against Arsenal (W2, L3).
- Arsenal have won one of their last 16 league visits to Man Utd (W1, D5, L10).
- The winning team in Man Utd’s last five meetings against Arsenal have scored three goals in each clash.
- No Utd player has hit the woodwork on more occasions than Bruno Fernandes this season in the top-flight (3).
- No goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets in the league this season than Arsenal’s David Raya (15).
Prediction
After their humiliation at Crystal Palace where they were simply atrocious across the entire pitch with awful defending and lacklustre attacking, Man Utd will be relieved to have McTominay, Fernandes and Rashford back for a game where they must step up.
Arsenal meanwhile delivered a clinical performance to beat a gutsy Bournemouth defence but were wasteful in the first half, so I would like to see more composure in the first 45 minutes otherwise they could be punished if not careful.
Throw in their poor form at Old Trafford and you have to fear that like last season, their title aspirations could be dealt a fatal blow on the penultimate weekend once more but this Arsenal team is wiser and more experienced with superior confidence and form which could be the difference.
Prediction: Manchester United 1-2 Arsenal
Result: Manchester United 0-1 Arsenal
