Midfielder, Jack Hinshelwood has signed a new four-year contract at Brighton & Hove Albion until June 2028.

Hinshelwood graduated through Brighton’s Academy and 12 months ago, he signed his first professional contract until June 2026 before he went on to make his senior debut as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa on the final day of 2022-23 Premier League season.

The 18 year-old – who turns 19 on Thursday – has gone on to score three goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season, although he is currently sidelined with an ankle injury but has signed a fresh contract with the club until June 2028.

Head Coach, Roberto De Zerbi is pleased to retain the youngster for four more seasons as he commented: “I am very happy for Jack and for his family, he has shown what a top player he is and he deserves this new contract. We miss him a lot and are look forward to having him back fit and ready to play.”

Brighton’s Technical Director, David Weir added that Hinshelwood “is a role model and his journey is an inspiring one for all the players in our academy.”

Weir went on to praise Hinshelwood for his contribution and attitude as he made the step up to first-team football.

“His attitude on and off the pitch throughout his time at the club has been exemplary, the way he has transitioned into the first-team squad was impressive and we are all very proud of his progress.

“Were it not for injury he would have no doubt played a lot more first-team games this season, but we are looking forward to him being back ready for pre-season this summer.”
