Hull City face Leicester City at the MKM Stadium in a huge Championship clash.
Victory would see Hull stay sixth irrespective of what their play-off rivals do elsewhere, whilst Leicester could move three points back clear of Ipswich if the Tractor Boys win at Cardiff in the lunchtime match.
Team News
Aaron Connolly could return for Hull after he missed their last two matches with a dead leg.
Liam Delap (knee) remains absent.
Leicester will welcome defender, Jannik Vestergaard back from suspension.
Jamie Vardy (fatigue) is a doubt but Kasey McAteer, Dennis Praet and Ricardo Pereira (all hamstring) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Hull face Leicester at the MKM Stadium on Saturday 9 March at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Hull are unbeaten in four of their last eight league meetings against Leicester (W2, D2, L4).
- Leicester have claimed seven points in their last five league visits to Hull (W2, D1, L2).
- Hull have conceded in five of their last six home games against Leicester in all competitions, except for a 0-0 draw in December 2012.
- No Hull player has been involved in more league goals this season than Jaden Philogene-Bidace who has scored eight goals and made six assists.
- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has a goal expectancy ratio of 9.1 which is higher than any other Leicester player this season.
Prediction
Unbeaten in six matches and currently holding the initiative in the fight for the last play-off spot, Hull have drawn each of their last three matches and weren’t clinical enough in midweek which allowed Birmingham to snatch a late draw so more composure is needed because they otherwise did everything else right.
Leicester meanwhile were simply clinical at Sunderland in a game where they were outplayed at times yet had the defensive quality to cling on, especially in spite of fitness levels dipping in the second half which shows how fitness could play a part in the run-in for teams if not careful.
Hull though seem to have found a knack now for grinding out results and I can see them proving difficult to beat here but if Leicester can find consistency across 90 minutes despite their busy schedule, they could nick a point which could be crucial for both teams come May.
Prediction: Hull 1-1 Leicester
Result: Hull 2-2 Leicester
